Ricardo Ortiz
Ricardo Ortiz is Chair of the English Department at Georgetown University, where he is also an Associate Professor of US Latino Literature. His first book, Cultural Erotics in Cuban America, was published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2007, and he is currently working on a second book entitled The Testimonial Imagination: Cold War Geopolitics and US Latino Literature. Recent articles of his have appeared in Gay Latino Studies: a Critical Reader, GLQ, and the Cambridge Companion to Latino American Literature. At Georgetown Professor Ortiz has also served as Director of the English MA Program and as a member of both the Provost’s Humanities Center Task Force and the Main Campus Core Curriculum Committee. Beyond Georgetown he has served two terms on the Delegate Assembly of the Modern Language Association, on the Executive Committee of the MLA’s Division on Gay Studies in Language and Literature, and as Chair of the Standing Committee on Ethnic Studies of the American Studies Association.
