Sabrina Smith is the UCHRI summer PhD intern/fellow and a doctoral candidate in History at UCLA where she works on colonial Latin American history as it relates to the African diaspora to the Americas. She has a BA in Anthropology and Spanish from UC Santa Barbara, and has professional experience working as a tutor for high school students in Santa Monica, finance experience as an auditor at UCLA, and administrative experience working for a non-profit medical clinic that provides healthcare for underserved populations in Santa Barbara. As UCHRI's intern for Summer 2016, Sabrina worked on a variety of projects, including the Humanists@Work PhD tracking initiative and research for our the Horizons of the Humanities initiative.
